As a unique nonprofit with a wholly volunteer staff, OWI seeks donations to initiate conservation projects and to ensure their success. Currently, we are focusing our efforts on two projects—

• Working with international partners to ghost fishing gear from the Bahia de los Angeles Biosphere Reserve, Mexico

• Developing new methods to examine habitat selection by kit foxes and other mesocarnivores on burned and unburned landscapes in the Northern Basin and Range
