USFWS Barred Owl Removal Study

Dan Rosenberg and OWI colleagues have just had a letter published in Science commenting on the proposed USFWS study designed to examine whether  barred owl removal will facilitate the recovery of the northern spotted owl.  View the letter here.

Recent inspections at the Dunn Forest purple martin conservation site reveal that martins are nesting in four of the artificial gourds placed by OWI.  Other pairs are nesting in three nearby snags.  Looks like a good breeding season for purple martins!
